9/11

How quickly time passes.  It has been 12 years since the attack on America by foreign terrorists occurred, killing thousands of ordinary citizens going about their normal daily routines.

As CNBC pointed out this morning, America’s middle school students were toddlers at the time and most have no personal recollection of the horror we all experienced watching the planes crash and the towers fall.  It is up to us to make sure our future generations know the story.  My own grandchildren are among those who live today but were not yet born in 2001.

Tell them your story of that day.  Let them feel and see the emotion that remembering it brings and share your thoughts on what their part may be in continuing the American tradition and duty of being ever watchful to ensure that the freedom and prosperity we enjoy continues into the future.

Today, I offer my own tribute to that of many others – to all American’s who pay the price of freedom – eternal vigilance, but especially to the relatives, friends, co-workers and neighbors of those who gave their last full measure during the attacks and in defense of the country after the attacks.
